Tom’s experiences in residential real estate began at an early age, working at a family- run real estate appraisal firm after school while in high school. After commercial and multifamily management experiences, Tom settled into residential sales full-time in 2001. He has been a consistent Top Producer throughout his career and was recently recognized by Washingtonian Magazine for these achievements.

A rare multi-generational Washingtonian, his career has shown great versatility, having worked in just about every neighborhood within and around the Maryland/District of Columbia Metropolitan area. Past clients range from first-time buyers to more seasoned homeowners who are down-sizing from the family home after many years, all in varying price parameters.

Tom joined Washington Fine Properties [WFP] after 16 years selling real estate in the DC area, including ownership of his own boutique brokerage of approximately 10 agents, Riley Residential Properties, LLC. WFP, with a sales volume of $.27 billion, is widely recognized in the Washington region as one of the most successful, locally owned, carriage-trade real estate firms in the United States.

Real Estate heritage
As Tom’s mother likes to say, “Real estate is in the blood.” Tom’s grandfather, B. Houston McCeney worked at the venerable old Randall Hagner Real Estate based in Washington, D.C., during the 1930s and 40s. The Hagner company was in business for 104 years before being sold in 2007.
